The Lake Valley
The Valle del Lago, located in Somiedo Natural Park, is one of the most iconic and accessible landscapes in Asturias. It combines wild nature, traditional livestock farming and a stunning high-mountain setting.
The Setting
The valley stretches from the village of Valle del Lago, a traditional mountain hamlet with hórreos (raised granaries), brañas (summer pastures) and stone houses, up to the Lago del Valle, the largest natural lake in Asturias. The lake lies at around 1,570 metres above sea level and is surrounded by peaks such as Peña Parda and Peña del Cuervo.
