The Monte Carcedo Pine Forest
Very close to Piedrafita de Babia, in the heart of the Babia and Luna Natural Park, lies the Monte Carcedo Pine Forest. Unlike the beech and oak forests that are predominant in the area, this enclave stands out for its pine woodland, creating a different and very special landscape within the park
A Unique Forest
It is a reforested pine forest, whose origins date back to the early 20th century. It is an ideal setting for leisurely walks, nature photography, and moments of tranquility away from more crowded trails. Several species of pine are present, among which, over time, some broad leaf tree species, such as maples, lindens, beeches, etc., have grown, contributing to its beauty and diversity.
